Regrettably, our world faces a constant influx of dogs filling local animal shelters. We aim to spotlight specific dogs we’ve encountered during our weekly slatmill sessions, hoping someone finds a companion they can’t resist. Though we can’t assist every dog, raising awareness about these shelter residents might lead them to a loving home. Your support through a simple share is sincerely appreciated. Thank you!
Name: REX
Age: 7
Days in: 251
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog Mix
Temperament: Extremely people friendly (loves both adults and children), playful, athletic but low/medium energy overall
Re-homing needs: Recommended to be the only dog in the home. Rex can be dog reactive (barks and pulls towards other dogs). He can be redirected but will need additional training if he’s to be walked around lots of other dogs. Rex was attacked by a group of dogs when he was younger, and seems to alert when dogs are nearby now. At least at the shelter, he hasn’t been interested in making doggie friends.
Additional info: potty trained, couch potato, snuggler, stuffed animal enthusiast/destroyer, fetch lover, does well when left alone (no signs of separation anxiety), politely greets people and enjoys car rides!
