Newton

Regrettably, many dogs are adopted only to be returned later. Often, people impulsively decide to get a dog without considering the breed or temperament that would best suit their lifestyle. It’s important to examine these factors to ensure a harmonious match between you and your potential new dog. Questions like whether you prefer a young or older dog, an active or relaxed one, and how much time you can commit daily are essential. Additionally, assess your living situation—does your home accommodate the dog’s needs, including space and access to a backyard? Working with a trainer is also highly recommended to establish a strong bond and address any behavioral challenges effectively.

Newton has been adopted and returned several times to PCAS. He is friendly and charming, but marches to the beat of his own drum. He is full of Husky antics (you might hear him before you see him), makes a great running partner, and can be introduced to other dogs. Even though he is very active, Newton also enjoys settling down with a stuffed animal and a snuggle.

Rehoming Needs: Newton needs an experienced and active handler to help him with his leash skills. Newton finds it amusing to jump up and snatch the leash from his handler for a game of tug-o-war. He has outmaneuvered some handlers which resulted in him accidentally tripping his handler or slipping out of his leash.
