There are countless dogs in need of loving homes, and Placer Animal Shelter is filled with many of them. Unfortunately, backyard breeders focused solely on profit rather than the well-being of the dogs have become widespread, with no signs of slowing down. As a result, shelters across the country are overwhelmed with dogs. Our goal is to shine a spotlight on a few of these deserving dogs and help them find the homes they need.
Affectionately referred to as The Cows, Holstein (black/white) and Hereford (tan/white) are two seniors who came to the shelter together. Holstein would love to be someone’s lap dog, and begs for belly rubs. Holstein can typically be spotted either following his handler around, or right by his brother’s side. Hereford is just as sweet but is a bit more independent. Hereford prefers to spend the majority of his time napping and sunbathing. Both dogs love leisurely walks, short runs around the yard, and long naps in the afternoon.
Rehoming Needs: No concerning behavioral or medical concerns at this time. Although they don’t seem too keen on playing with other dogs, both dogs have been to several adoption events and done well around adults, kids, and other dogs. Their biggest challenge is finding a home that is willing to take in a pair of senior Pit Bull mixes.
